It is a city of international stature located in the southeastern end of Florida. The influence of Cuban emigrants is reflected in the cafes and tobacconists of Calle Ocho in Little Havana. On the barrier islands, across the turquoise waters of Biscay Bay, is Miami Beach, in which South Beach is located. This glamorous neighborhood is famous for its colorful Art Deco buildings, white sand, seaside hotels and avant-garde clubs.
Miami weather is tropical climate, with hot and humid summers, and temperate and dry winters. The city experiences cold fronts from November to March, which cause fresh to cold temperatures that are not usually maintained for more than 3 or 4 days. During the winter there may be a few days with minimum freezing temperatures (about 0 °c/32 °f).
Most of the rainfall occurs in summer and usually there is a dry season in winter. The humid season prevails from May to September and in the dry mild temperatures occur and in it takes place the weak winter precipitations. The hurricane season usually coincides with the humid season.
